Hello Spotters! It has been a while since we have made an appearance on here, but rest assured, we have not forgotten about you all. Hopefully everyone is sticking to their New Year’s resolutions (we’re looking at you, gym goers) and are kicking off 2018 healthy and happy. As the first week of the new year and new month comes to an end, we want to share the top events for this month. Don’t worry-we’ll try to keep most of them indoors.
The Colonade
With winter settling in, most hotels drop rates to fill rooms for the slow season. Which means it’s time for The Colonade, located in Back Bay, to introduce its Frosty Fridays Special Weekend. All you have to do is pay Friday night’s temperature in dollars for Friday night and $289 for Saturday. So, if the temperature is 5 degrees (it is based on the temperature at 5PM), your Friday night hotel room cost would be $5. To top off the package, this weekend deal lets you pick between two amenities; four tickets to the Frog Pond ice skating rink or tickets on an Old Town Trolley tour, access to a make your own hot chocolate and complimentary parking at the hotel’s garage. Even if you’re not much of a hotel go-er this is a deal not to pass up.
Celtics
It’s basketball season! Head to TD garden to watch Boston’s beloved play. If you plan it far enough in advance, you can find tickets for as low as $20. Now, that’s a win.
Shows & Concerts
Head to Symphony Hall to experience Boston’s orchestra. Other venues to check out this month include Paradise Rock Cafe, the Orpheum Theatre, and the House of Blues. Artists such as Sam Harris and Passion Pit will be featured.
MFA
The MFA hosts a free open house this MLK day. There will be special exhibits honoring Martin Luther King Jr. Fun fact: he studied at BU and Hardvard.
College Night at the Frog Pond
Head to the frog pond every Tuesday and get half priced admission with your college ID. For those who want to save even more, check out their schedule online to see which week your college gets free admission.
That’s about it for this month! Whatever your plans, make sure to stay warm this month. Tip for the pros: Old Navy and Amazon are having insane deals on gloves.
