As the first week of May comes to end, it’s time to revisit a SPOT monthly ritual- announcing the top events to go to in Boston. With a majority of students out for summer vacation and the warm weather encouraging people to leave their homes, the city blooms during this month.

Red Sox Game
Tis’ the season to hit Fenway for a game. With these temperatures a cold beer and a grilled Italian sausage are calling your name.

Duckling Day Parade
Head to the Public Garden on May 14th for the annual tradition of celebrating the children’s book “Make Way for the Ducklings.” More than 1,000 people took part last year in the parade that occurred through the Garden and the Common.

Mother’s Day
Make sure to send your mom a bouquet of her favorite flowers on May 14th. Visit the ICA for its annual Mother’s Day brunch, head to see the lilacs bloom in the garden, or take her to one of her favorite places to celebrate all she’s done for you.

SoWa
Located in the South End on Harrison Ave, this weekly celebration of artists, entrepreneurs, and food is the perfect place to visit on a warm weekend. Check out one of the 150 vendors that are present and you’ll be sure to leave with something you love. Learn more about it here

Hidden Gardens of Beacon Hill
On the 3rd Thursday of every May, about a dozen Beacon Hill Garden Club members will open their homes for self guided tours of their gardens. The public is always amazed to experience the secret gardens that are tucked behind homes.
