At SPOT, we realize how difficult it is to live a fast paced life and still find time to be charitable. So, we’ve partnered up with One Warm Coat and the Somerville Homeless Coalition to allow YOU to give back to the less fortunate through parking. Between now and Thanksgiving, for every 24 hours booked through SPOT, we will donate a COAT and CAN of FOOD for National Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week!
To thank YOU for helping in the fight against Hunger & Homelessness, we’re giving all our users $10 OFF. Just use the code “GIVE” to save money while you help us support two great organizations.
Thanksgiving is more than turkey legs and family drama, it’s also the season of giving back. This is a time for us all to think about what we are thankful for, and a perfect time to share our compassion with our local community. Together we can work toward a world where no one has to experience Hunger and Homelessness. There are plenty of ways to give back and many great causes in Boston to support, and we’d like to tell you more about the two organizations that you’re helping us support this National Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week.
One Warm Coat![owc_ai_logo]()
Winter coats are expensive clothing items for low income families, and for 15% of Americans living in extreme poverty, may even be unaffordable. One Warm Coat is the organization that provides anyone in need with a warm coat, free of charge.
Over the last 22 years OWC has supported over 22,000 coat drives and have expanded in all 50 states and 10 countries. Since 1992, One Warm coat has helped over 4 million people in need.
Want to help? Here’s how:
1) You can plan a coat drive in your community
2) Drop off your unused coats
3) Donate – Every $1 helps provide two coats
Everyone should have a warm coat. And You can be the one to help.
Somerville Homeless Coalition![shc_new_logo_-_small]()
According to the Boston Public Health Commision there are over 3,500 homeless people living in the streets of Boston. For these individuals, Thanksgiving is just another day without food or shelter. Somerville Homeless Coalition aims to change that.
Somerville Homeless Coalition provides families and individuals with support services and housing solutions. Over 30 years, SHC has donated over 3 million dollars for education programs, housing, and food.
The Somerville homeless Coalition is a safe place for homeless and hungry families and children in Somerville and the greater Boston area. With your donations, they can continue to shelter and feed those in need.
Want to Help? Here’s how:
1) Donate
2) Host a food drive
3) Host a fundraiser
